National Catholic Education Association Position Statement on Accountability and Assessment
There has been some really disturbing publicity concerning the new Common Core State Standards recently in the news. Please read the following from NCEA about our beliefs related to accountability and assessment.
“We hold a sacred trust to educate and form
the whole person – mind, body, and spirit. Accountability invites members of
the community to share in the process of assessing the success of catechetical
and educational programs, verifying ‘we are who we say we are.’ Accountability
is essential to that sacred trust.
We are
accountable to:
§
the Catholic community;
§
civil society;
§
boards and councils;
§
funders;
§
all whom we serve, especially students, parents, and
guardians;
§
our professional colleagues; and, ultimately;
§
to one another.”
8th Grade HOSTS a Spirit Night at Chick-fi-A
Come out to support our first CC Chick-fil-A Spirit Night! The 8th grade is hosting a Spirit night at Chick-fil-A from 4-8 PM at the Garden of the Gods location on Wednesday, September 25th. Come out, wear your CC gear and make it a fun night for our school!

HARD AS NAILS Comes to CC
MARK YOUR CALENDARS! We are so blessed to have the opportunity to host "Hard As Nails" for our middle schoolers on Friday, October 4th at 10 AM. Another special event Corpus Christi Catholic School is hosting is an evening event by "Hard As Nails" for middle schoolers, high schoolers and parents on October 3rd in our Corpus Christi Gym at 7 PM. INTERNATIONAL WALK TO SCHOOL DAY
The Colorado Department of Transportation is encouraging all schools to participate in Walk to School Day on Wednesday, October 9, 2013! Can you make a commitment to walk or ride your bikes to school one day as a new way to model caring for the body God has given you? :)
JOG-A-THON - right around the corner!
YEA! The 7th Annual Jog-A-Thon is coming up on September 27th! Check out the digital locker of teacher ease for the Jog A Thon Pledge Form. Our Home and School Association has some great plans for making improvements in our school that they will be sharing at Back to School Night! Second Annual Clay Shoot - Huge Success!
A huge thank you to our team, under the leadership of Mr. Peter Speiser, who put together our 2nd Annual Corpus Christi Clay Shoot! This year they raised $1200+ to purchase much needed materials for our See the Change Middle Physics program! Thanks again to this team for making this happen!
Speaking of MIDDLE SCHOOL SCIENCE
Remember the Student Services Fees we paid when registering? Those dollars are being put to work! Coming soon to the Middle School Science classroom are 8 new Android tablets (like the I-Pad)! This new technology integration will be wonderful for our middle school students to have immediate access to the internet and the web based information Mrs. Hennessey uses in her classroom! Come check out the 21st learning skills our students are using in our middle school!
