Welcome Back to School- August 16, 2013

What a fabulous first week back to school we had! God is SO good for blessing us with GREAT families and students!  Thank you for partnering with us in your child's faith and academic journey!

Today, Friday, August 16, your youngest child brought home some documents for you to review from our school office! Please take a look at these and please make sure to review the family handbook at the back of your child's planner with them over the weekend!  A few reminders for the next week:

WELCOME to our 70 Preschoolers, Pre-Kers and Kindergartners on Monday, August 19th!
We are so blessed to be welcoming 70 preschoolers, Pre-Kers and Kindergartners on Monday!  Can you believe that great growth our school is making?  We are so excited to welcome these babies and their families to our school!  We all know there is a lot to learn about going to school - please know we are all willing to answer any questions you may have!

1st-8th Grade Parents: Please make sure to give them a hug or word of encouragement as you remember what is was like to take this big step in your child's growth!

Drop-Off/Pick Up Policies for Kindergarten-8th Grade
Wow!  Drop-off and pick up are going like clock work!  As a reminder, please ensure you enter through the west entrances to our parking lot and park ONLY in the parking lots behind or next to the church if you plan to walk in.  Thank you so much for your cooperation with this!

School Hours - 7:40 AM-2:40 PM
Our drop-off time each morning begins at 7:25 AM. For the safety of your children, please do not drop off children before this time as we have no staff on duty until this time.  Drop-off continues until 7:40 AM with students reporting to the gym for teachers to pick up.  This year we have all Kindergarten-8th Grade students going to the gym in the morning and afternoon as announcements occur at 7:50 over the intercom.  We believe this is great way to pray each morning together but also allow students to be in classrooms ready to learn.  We will have special morning gathering times Advent and Lent so we can make these seasons extra special!

Each afternoon at 2::38 PM in the gym, our CC student council will lead our school in prayer to close our day!  Parents are welcome to come to the gym each afternoon to pray with our students and pick up your children! Dismissal will begin at promptly 2:40.

Aftercare Procedures
Our pick-up procedures in the afternoon mirror our drop-off procedures in the afternoon.  Pick-up begins at 2:40 PM and ends at 3:00 PM. Kids who are not picked up by 3:00 PM will be checked into our CC After-School Care as we understand that life can be unpredictable.  So beginning at 3:01 PM, each parents should report to the lower west blue door, under the external stairs and ring the bell for entry into the building and go to the cafeteria to pick up your students.

Families can choose between regular participation in aftercare or can participate on a drop-in basis.  The drop-in fees are $10 for the first 30 minutes of aftercare and $20 for the day.  Aftercare closes for the day at 5:30 PM.  If a child is not picked up by this time, a fee of $1 per minute will be charged for the first time this occurs.  If it occurs again, $2 per minute will be charged and so on.  This fee is due at the time of pick-up.

This policy goes into affect on Monday, August 19th.  If you are interested in having your child attend aftercare on a regular basis, please contact Al Chromy at achromy@corpuschristicos.org for more information.

Monday, August 19 - First Day for Preschool, Pre-K and Kindergarten; Students wear Everyday Wear - please see handbook for a description of our uniform policy

Tuesday, August 20 - Regular Day; PK-5th Grade Students wear Everyday Wear; 6-8 Graders have PE today!  They wear their PE uniforms with Athletic shoes of their choice today!  Don't forget to tuck in those shirts!

Wednesday, August 21 - School Blessing at 1:00 PM and First School Mass at 1:45 PM - Students wear Mass Uniforms today!  Parents are welcome and ENCOURAGED to attend with us!

Thursday, August 22 - Regular Day, ALL students wear Everyday Wear!

Friday, August 23 - Regular Day, ALL students wear Everyday Wear!

REMINDER:  No School Next Week on August 29th, 30th for our Teacher Aquinas Catechetical Training or on Labor Day, September 2nd!
